About MW Crafthouse
I’m Michael, the operator behind MW Crafthouse.
Art has always been a part of my life, whether that’s drawing, painting, sculpting, digital, ceramics, or woodworking, and MW Crafthouse is the latest continuation of that work.
With MW Crafthouse specifically, my goal is to delve further into woodworking, creating beautiful quality pieces with a touch of craftsmanship. I’m currently starting small, primarily focused on home goods as I build out and expand my shop, with my end goal to begin producing furniture.
My Commitment to Quality Craftsmanship
Every item produced for MW Crafthouse is guaranteed to be of the highest quality. I source quality hardwoods, ensuring beautiful tones, grains, and textures.
All pieces are finished to an exacting standard, and should feel soft and smooth and be a delight to pick up and hold.
All of our wood products are treated with a two-step process, first coated with linseed oil to enhance the beauty of the wood and create depth in the surface. In the second step, they’re coated with an in-house blend of tung oil and beeswax which this creates a durable, long-lasting, water-resistant finish.
This ensures a long-lasting piece of work with a deep, beautiful texture that you’ll enjoy having around the home.
Locally Made, Sustainable Practices
Sustainability is hugely important, and I am committed to continual improvement in using locally and responsibly sourced materials and eco-friendly practices in our production process.
With a few exceptions, the vast majority of the wood used comes from US sources, as do the oils, while I source beeswax from a local honey provider.
Everything we make is made at our shop in Chico, CA – I’m not reselling finished products from China, everything I make starts off as a board that arrives to my house strapped to my roof rack.
I look forward to sharing my love for woodworking with you and hope to inspire within you your own creativity.
